Log Activity for Wk 1
I establish my blog on Tuesday and finished editing and customizing it on Thursday.
I checked the blog list and looked at the established blogs of classmates. I posted responses. I will continue to review and post more responses this weekend.
I intend to complete all three projects within the set deadlines. I am kicking around some ideas and probably will have to ask Dr. Newberry a few questions before finalizing my choices.
Response Items
Area 1- Using technology to increase our personal effectiveness in our own role as well as being a model for others to follow.
I believe it is everyone’s responsibility to add to someone’s knowledge. Technology used in the correct context enhances lives increasing efficiency and productivity with the goal of producing better results. Teaching those around us, actively or with an example to follow, is a responsibility that I welcome.
Area 2- Communicating to others information about the effective use of technology including training and guiding others to use technology effectively.
Communication in any context is a delicate task. Communicating information about a subject that changes at such a rapid rate, can become a daunting task. I find that the best form to communicate information about technology is being knowledgeable and passionate about the particular subject you want to show and tell others. Motivation and enthusiasm are contagious and are great ways to get others interested in what we are talking about.
Area 3- Supporting the effective use of technology through planning for technology use, promoting technology use, staff development, infrastructure acquisition and upkeep.
I consider this area to be of great responsibility. I equate supporting the effective use of technology with the technical side of keeping guard over technology. Today’s technological advances come with equally advanced threats such as viruses, internet scams, identity theft, etc…

Good session 1 post. You also made some great observations in other posts on this blog. Technology is indeed anything that we humans create to help us deal with, or shape, our environments. We tend to only hand the "technology" sobriquet on the newest ideas.
